Welcome to the Sticky Genetics Grow-Off — a head-to-head showcase of growers, genetics, and what happens when you take a plant all the way to the finish.
This competition is about more than just growing a big plant. Every detail matters. From the structure of the plant to the finish on the flower, judges will be looking at the entire presentation from top to bottom.
Whether you’re chasing frost, color, density, structure, or an absolutely dialed-in finish, this is your chance to put your grow on display.

🏆 HOW TO ENTER
🌱 ANY GENETICS ARE WELCOME.
You may enter any genetic of your choice, as long as your entry is grown from seed and the resulting plant is female.
There are no restrictions on strain, breeder, lineage, or genetics.
Grow what you believe can win.
🧵 START YOUR OWN ENTRY THREAD
Create a forum post inside the “Grow Diaries” sub-topic of “Gallery & Grow Diaries” using the name of the strain you’re growing as the title. YOUR POST MUST BE MADE ON THE FORUM HERE. You can sign in with Discord no extra account creation required.

Your entry thread will serve as the official journal of your competition plant.

📖 DOCUMENT YOUR GROW
Document your grow throughout the entire competition.
Your entry should show the progression of your plant from the beginning all the way through the final finish.
Post regular progress updates and photos as your plant develops. Show us the structure, training, canopy development, flowering progression, and everything in between.
This isn’t meant to be a thread you create at the beginning and return to only when it’s time to harvest.
🌱 WE WANT TO SEE THE JOURNEY.
Your final flower is what gets scored, but your grow thread should tell the story of how you got there.
A documented grow is a requirement for entry and rewards.

🪴 GROW-OFF POT REQUIREMENT
3-GALLON POT — EXACTLY.
Every competitor must grow their entry in a 3-gallon pot.
No bigger. No smaller.
This requirement keeps the playing field as consistent and competitive as possible, putting more emphasis on the grower’s ability to manage the plant rather than simply giving it more root volume.
🚫 2-gallon? Not allowed.
🚫 5-gallon? Not allowed.
🚫 10-gallon? Not allowed.
✅ 3-gallon? That’s the one.
Your competition plant must be grown in a 3-gallon container.

🌱 SEED-ONLY COMPETITION
This is a SEED-ONLY Grow-Off.
Any genetics are permitted, but the plant must originate from seed.
✅ Allowed:
- Regular seed
- Feminized seed
- Any strain
- Any breeder
- Any genetic lineage
- Any cross
❌ Not Allowed:
- Clones
- Cuttings
- Plants started from existing mother plants
- Any entry that did not originate from seed
The resulting plant must be female to qualify for judging.

📸 WHAT WILL BE JUDGED?
Final judging will focus on the finished plant and the quality of your final presentation.
Judges will be looking closely at:
🌿 01 — FLOWER CONSISTENCY
How consistent is the flower structure and size throughout the entire plant?
We’re looking for a plant that carries quality from the top all the way down.
🌱 02 — LARF / DEVELOPMENT
Minimal to no larf.
Are the lower flowers actually developed, or did the plant produce a bunch of underdeveloped material?
🧬 03 — FLOWER MATURITY
No immature hairs left behind.
The final flower should look finished, mature, and properly developed.
🥛 04 — TRICHOME DEVELOPMENT
Milky heads.
Judges will be looking at the overall trichome development and maturity of the finished flower.
✂️ 05 — DEFOLIATION
How well was the plant managed?
Good defoliation and canopy management should contribute to a clean, well-developed plant without sacrificing the natural structure of the grow.
❄️ 06 — FROST LEVEL
How heavily coated is the finished flower?
Bring the frost.
🎨 07 — COLOR
Color expression will be considered as part of the overall finished presentation.
📷 08 — IMAGE QUALITY
Your photography matters.
Blurry, poorly lit, or difficult-to-see photos will not score as highly as clear, detailed final images.
Make sure your final photos allow the judges to actually see what your plant has accomplished.

🏅 SCORING
Every judging category can earn up to 10 points, based on the judges’ final assessment of your finished plant and presentation.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: POINTS ARE ONLY AWARDED AT FINAL JUDGING.
Points will not be assigned throughout the grow.
Your progress posts are for documenting your journey and showing the development of your plant. Your official score is determined from your final submission.

🏁 WHEN YOU’RE FINISHED
Once your plant is ready and you have your final photos posted, you can request your entry to be judged.
Simply let the organizers know that your plant is finished and you’re ready for final evaluation.
All competitors will be given the opportunity to complete their plants before final scores are evaluated.
We don’t want someone rushing their harvest just because another competitor finished first.

⚠️ NO GHOST ENTRIES — NO FREEBIE HUNTING
The free ZPK pack is a reward for participating in the Grow-Off — not simply signing up.
Participants who join solely to claim the free ZPK pack and then never document their grow will not receive the participant reward.
If judgment day arrives and you have provided little to no progress or documentation of your plant, you will not qualify for the participant rewards or prizes.

⏳ COMPLETION & INACTIVE PARTICIPANTS
The Grow-Off will remain open while competitors finish their plants.
If the vast majority of competitors are 95%+ complete and one participant becomes inactive and is holding up final judging, that participant will receive a 2-day make-or-break period.
During that period, they must either:
1. Respond and provide an update/progress on their grow
OR
2. Be disqualified from the competition.
This ensures everyone gets a fair opportunity to finish while preventing an inactive entry from indefinitely delaying the final judging.

🌱 AUGUST 20 — GROW-OFF BEGINS
Do not start your seeds before this date.
🌿 AUGUST → OCTOBER — VEGETATIVE GROW
Document your plant, show your progress, and develop your structure.
🌸 OCTOBER 31 — FINAL DAY TO FLIP TO FLOWER
Your plant must be flipped to flower no later than October 31st.
🏆 FINAL FINISH — FINAL PHOTOS & JUDGING
Once your plant is complete, post your final photos and request your final judging.
